Privacy policy
This site is run as an independent civic project under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. The short version: not much is collected, and what is collected is kept to a minimum and used only for the purposes set out below.
What this site collects
The mock test runs entirely in your browser. Your answers, score and timer are not transmitted off your device unless you choose to submit your result.
If you click "Submit anonymous result" at the end of the test, the following are sent to a Google Sheet held by the site operator:
- Your score (out of 20) and percentage
- The time you took to complete the test
- Your answer to the optional birthplace question (or blank if you chose "Prefer not to say")
- Your answer to the optional voting intention question (or blank)
- Your answer to the optional region question (or blank)
- The timestamp of submission
No name, email address, IP address, or any other identifying information is collected through this submission. The dataset is held in Google Sheets and is used solely to produce the aggregate statistics on the Results page.
To protect privacy, demographic groups with fewer than 15 responses are not reported individually on the Results page. Their count is shown, but no score is broken out, so a single individual's responses cannot be inferred from a sparse grouping.
If you contact the site through the contact form or by emailing contact@kiwi-values.nz, the email address you use, your name, and the contents of your message will be held by the site operator for the purpose of replying. These are kept only as long as needed to deal with the correspondence.
How content is written
